We connect people to build sustainable and prosperous futures.
“For us, by us, with us.”
Perhaps you’ve been to a South African township or visited a country that demonstrates even more need. It’s easy to be struck by that which is foreign to one’s privileged life, and we believe that concern should extend to meaningful action.
The question becomes how to act effectively. On a trip to South Africa, some of our leaders met with members of the Inanda township in KwaZulu-Natal, and we began to form the philosophy of our outreach by becoming informed on the needs of those who will benefit from what we’re able to accomplish. Any sort of service—financial donations, physical labor, various kinds of consultations—is (or at least should be) a reflection of love for other people, not something undertaken for any self-congratulatory personal satisfaction. To this end, our eyes are fixed upon partnering with communities to uplift their physical environments and activate the potential of people who may never have had a chance otherwise, as opposed to swooping in with non-personal, cookie cutter solutions which don’t fully match the needs of recipients.
The quote at the top of the page is from Gerald Goba, a pastor and community leader who put into words our guiding ethos. In any theater of need, we aim to recognize unique testaments of strength, perseverance, and hope, and use our abilities and developing network/systems to enable such driven people to achieve all that they’re capable of. Through immersive experiences that lead to long-term relationships, we aim to connect individuals, communities, and organizations in a shared effort of tangible action, all in pursuit of transformative good to lives and the world.
Our Plan
Our vision begins with construction in historically underserved/impoverished communities particularly in the Global South. We currently work to expand our network and places of impact so that we can effectively start further initatives.
Ubuntu Bricks
One of our major ways of connecting people with the communities we partner with, we offer the chance to pay for individual parts of our building projects, as well as tracking their usage.
Connecting Communities
We want to partner with construction/architecture firms and private organizations to lead service trips with people who have the skills to help.
